A steakhouse on 7th Street that cooks the way this whole page is about: fine ingredients at their peak, cooked with a light hand, and a table that changes with the season. Restaurateur Albert runs the room, Chef Fernando runs the kitchen and after a long awaited return mixologist Fabian is back behind the bar. The specials move week to week instead of sitting on a laminated menu all year.
The part we lean on hardest is the family-style takeout. There are weeks where the choice after a ball game or a school night is a drive-through window or nothing, and they built the answer to that, a proper meal for the whole table, ready to pick up. Eating clean should not have to stop because the calendar got busy.
It is a warm room, and they are very good about making everyone feel like a regular.
Family Pasta Deal, Monday through Saturday, $30. Feeds four. Alfredo or spaghetti, house or caesar salad, bread and sauce. This is the one we tell people about, and the answer to the school-night problem above.
A plate cooked to order for $12 is drive-through money in California now. We think it is the best value in town, and it is not close.
Coming up Wine Dinner with Austin Hope, Thursday, October 8 at 6:00pm. Four courses from Chef Fernando, each paired with a Hope Family Wines pour, finishing on caramelized autumn pumpkin. $150 a person, reservations only, limited seating.

No connection here beyond a standing table. We eat there, we order from there on the busy nights, and we send people there.
On this page because we use them ourselves. That is the only way onto our trusted list.
